Summerlin has stood the test of time as a master-planned community within the Las Vegas Valley for 30+ years.

Currently, Summerlin holds the #3 spot for new home sales amongst master-planned communities. A title they also had in 2019.

While some master-planned communities fail to reach the same level of quality and desirability as they expand, this has never been the case with Summerlin. Not only have they been at the forefront of environmental sustainability within the Las Vegas Valley, but they also have never been more desirable to new and existing homeowners alike.

The master-planned community of Summerlin still has approximately 20 years before the vision that started in 1952 with the first purchase of land by Howard Hughes has drawn to its completion.

For now, here all some of the amenities you can enjoy in this beautifully developed community.

Las Vegas Ballpark – Home of the Aviators

Professional Sports

Las Vegas Ballpark

Las Vegas Ballpark is home to the Las Vegas Aviators. The Las Vegas Aviators are the Triple-A affiliate team for the Oakland A’s when open for fans to enjoy a cool dip in the swimming pool when you host a party for your closest friends and watch the game poolside.

City National Arena

City National Arena is the practice facility for the Vegas Golden Knights. Not only does our team practice here, but it is also home to learn to skate programs for children and Jr. Hockey teams. As the first professional sports team to call Las Vegas home, The Vegas Golden Knights have a special place in the hearts of locals.

Downtown Summerlin

Outdoor Shopping Malls

Downtown Summerlin

Downtown Summerlin is one of the newest outdoor shopping malls built in Las Vegas. With a combination of stores, restaurants, office space, and events like a weekly farmers market, Downtown Summerlin has exceeded expectations.

Urban Core

Though technically not the official name, Urban Core will be making its debut in the Newest Summerlin Village of Red Point and Red Point Square in Summerlin West. A mini Downtown Summerlin that provides a town center will be a uniquely walkable area to meet up with friends, grab a bite, or shop. Once there are more rooftops and streets in Summerlin West, we will know more about the design and commercial opportunities for Summerlin’s newest Urban Core.

Trader Joe’s Summerlin

Grocery Stores

Trader Joe’s

Trader Joe’s is one of the anchor stores at Downtown Summerlin. I must admit that this is one of my favorite stores.

Costco

Costco, including a gas station, is located within Summerlin. When you have as many children as I do, having a Costco close is super convenient.

Albertson’s

Albertson’s, located at the edge of The Vistas, is conveniently located directly off Charelston and Desert Foothills.

Red Rock Canyon

Outdoor Lifestyle

Parks

Dozens of parks are located within each village of Summerlin, promoting an outdoor lifestyle. Each village was designed around a park or golf course to surround us with nature and open spaces within each community.

Walking Trails

Continuing to contribute to the outdoor lifestyle are 150 miles of trails, including running trails, biking trails & neighborhood connector trails. The connector trails provide convenient access for children walking to and from school. These trails allow for less walking traffic on busy streets and allowing access through the neighborhoods.

Cool Off

During the summer months, you can drop by Wet-N-Wild to cool off. Yes, Wet-N-Wild now calls Summerlin home. For those who have lived in las Vegas for many years, you might remember that Wet-N-Wild was located right on Las Vegas Boulevard once upon a time.

Red Rock Canyon

As your outdoor living BONUS…Summerlin is at the base of Red Rock Canyon. Red Rock Canyon is home to many hikes, including those that feature waterfalls. Yes, waterfalls in the desert. Having lived here for over 40 years, I can genuinely say I have not done every hike that Red Rock Canyon offers. Due to restrictions set in place by our Governor, you must now make a reservation to gain entry into the park, but the Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive is a must-do.

Golf

Summerlin has world-class golf. Summerlin alone offers ten community golf courses, including the world’s first Jack Nicklaus designed Bears Best. They are also home to Nevada’s only 2 Tournament Players Club(TPC) private courses.

Restaurants

Restaurants

Chain Restaurants

There are many chain restaurants located throughout Summerlin. True Food Kitchen at Downtown Summerlin is one of my favorites. They offer seasonally sourced ingredients that are healthy and deliciously prepared.

Upscale Dining

Upscale dining includes offerings from world-renowned chef/owners like Andiron by Elizabeth Blau. Not to be outdone are locally owned and operated restaurants like Makers & Finders, Frankie’s Uptown, and many more. If you have a favorite Summerlin restaurant reach out and tell me what it is, I’m always looking for excellent restaurants.

Summerlin Farmers Market

Community Activities

4th of July Parades, Festival of the Arts

Summerlin has become known for its community events. Of course, due to the current restrictions, events have been scaled back, but we are looking forward to the day when we can all be together celebrating again. The well-attended 4th of July Parade is a sight to see for all. Festival of the Arts brings together over fifty thousand people to this two-day event. Artists show their creations in an open-air setting, including activities for kids, entertainment, and food.

Farmers Market, Outdoor Ice Skating Rink

Located in the outdoor rotunda of Downtown Summerlin is a weekly Farmers Market. Winter months bring an outdoor Ice Skating Rink, providing a picturesque scene complete with a beautiful Christmas tree for the holidays.

Tour de Summerlin & Summerlin 1/2 Marathon

Summerlin has long been an advocate for staying healthy and active, and what better way to show their belief in the outdoor lifestyle than to host the Tour de Summerlin & Summerlin 1/2 Marathon.

Access to residents only community centers

When purchasing a home in Summerlin, you also gain access to residents only community centers. Some of these community centers have swimming pools that can only be accessed by residents of Summerlin.

Summerlin schools

When families move to Las Vegas, one of the first questions families ask me with school-aged children is if the home they’re looking to purchase is in a Summerlin school zone. There are many private schools, but Summerlin is home to charter, magnet, and public schools.

Selling for a higher price per square foot

Due to the desirability of the Summerlin brand, homes generally sell for a higher price per square foot in this community. Summerlin provides a wide variety of homes, including gated, non-gated, guard-gated, staff-gated, age-qualified, from starter homes to mansions.

Gated, non-gated, guard-gated, staff-gated, Age-qualified, from starter homes to mansions.

When you are ready to make Summerlin your home, I would love to be your guide through the process. Or, when you’re ready to sell your Summerlin home, I would be honored to share with potential buyers what Summerlin has to offer and why they need to live here.
